Corridor Kiwanis’ 21st Annual
4thfest Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction
In the spring of 2004 a group of young business people in the Corridor came together and started the Coralville-Corridor Kiwanis Club. The Charter Meeting occurred on August 28, 2004.
One of the charter members was Jim Faucett, the Mayor of Coralville. He brought to the attention of the club that the annual 4thFest Pancake Breakfast had lost its sponsor. Even before the club was officially formed, the Kiwanis members organized their first 4thFest Pancake Breakfast on July 4, 2004.
The club has continued the tradition of hosting the 4thFest Pancake Breakfast just ahead of the 4thFest parade for the City of Coralville every year except 2020 which was the year of COVID. A few years ago we started to host a Silent Auction along side the pancake breakfast, as some of our sponsors found it easier to donate in kind than in cash.
The 4thFest Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction has switched between Northwest Middle School to the Coralville Recreation Center depending on which facility is available. Both are on the parade route.
In 2025, the 4thFest Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction is being held at the Coralville Recreation Center on Friday, July 4th from 7 am to 10 am. Immediately after the breakfast the City of Coralville is hosting the 4thFest parade, which passes in front of the Rec Center.
All funds raised from the 4thFest Pancake Breakfast and the Silent Auction that accompanies the breakfast are given to the benefit of children in the community. Primary recipients of the funds include Kirkwood Elementary, Coralville Central Elementary, and the Coralville Community Food Pantry.
This year the club is asking for a free will donation at the breakfast.
We thank our sponsors for helping us to put on the 4thFest Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction.
